A.G is a Hackney-born DJ, producer, curator and designer whose work has played a significant role in shaping London’s contemporary sound, and extending its influence far beyond the city.
Raised in East London, A.G’s musical grounding developed through deep immersion in Grime and its surrounding ecosystems. Early on, she created platforms that centred conversation, live performance and community, establishing an approach to radio that valued context and exchange as much as energy. This ethos would go on to inform much of her later work.
As her practice evolved, A.G expanded beyond Grime into the wider dancefloor continuum. Through residencies on stations such as NTS, she developed a reputation for adventurous programming and sharp, intuitive curation. Her broadcasts became spaces where genres overlapped freely, reflecting a listening practice shaped by curiosity rather than allegiance to any single sound.
Alongside broadcasting, A.G has built a strong profile as a producer. Her music mirrors her DJ sets: fluid, forward-thinking and resistant to easy categorisation. Drawing from Grime, Garage, Dance and UK Drill, while weaving in elements of classic R&B and Hip Hop, her productions feel both deeply rooted and distinctly personal. Rather than referencing a single scene or lineage, her work reflects a lifetime of immersion, transforming familiar forms into something immediately recognisable as her own.
In recent years, her work has extended further into visual and collaborative spaces. She produced the audio for Essex Girls, a project that was later released publicly following nominations for both Sundance and BAFTA awards, situating her sound within an internationally recognised visual context.
Her remix of Kelela’s Happy Ending, accompanied by a mini video, introduced her work to a wider global audience, further highlighting her sensitivity as a collaborator and her ability to reframe material with a contemporary edge.
While East London remains central to her identity, A.G’s reach is global, with bookings across Ethiopia, Uganda, Canada and India. Whether in New Cross or New Delhi, audiences are drawn to her instinctive blending, deep musical knowledge and ability to bridge nostalgia with the cutting edge.
With a forthcoming EP, sweet memories, set for release on Crate Classics, A.G continues to evolve while remaining grounded in the principles that have long defined her work: experimentation without constraint, technical precision, cultural awareness and an unwavering commitment to sound.
